The Fever are 2-3 on the season, a disappointing start made even worse by a Caitlin Clark quad injury that is projected to keep her out for a couple of weeks. Clark, thus far in the season, is averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 9.3 assists on 40.3 percent shooting.
Without her, the Fever as a team has struggled to keep their offense among the WNBA’s elite. Now, it’ll fall on the shoulders of the likes of Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston to keep the Fever afloat in Clark’s absence.
The Sun, meanwhile, has fared far worse this season, sitting 0-5 on the campaign, 0-3 at home, and 0-2 on the road. Most recently, the Sun fell to the Dallas Wings 109-87 behind 21 points, five rebounds, and seven assists in 35 minutes of action for the star rookie. Leading the way for Connecticut this season is Tina Charles at 17.0 points per game. Charles also leads the team in rebounding at 6.6 boards per contest.
Will the Fever be able to stay afloat without Clark on Friday night when they take on the Sun? Or will the Sun earn their first win of the season?
