The Chicago Cubs are one of the most popular teams in Japan thanks to Shota Imanaga and Seiya Suzuki both being on the team. The two Japanese stars will return to their home country to play in front of their biggest fans as they kick off the 2025 season.
Imanaga was spectacular in his first MLB season, posting a 15-3 record with a 2.91 ERA in 2024 en route to being selected to the NL All-Star team. He will look to be even better this season as he tries to cement himself as one of the best starting pitchers in the league.
Suzuki is entering his fourth year with the Cubs and has been great in his own right since coming over to Chicago. The outfielder has a .278 batting average and has hit 55 home runs in his first three MLB seasons.
This is the first of two tune-up games before the Cubs open up the regular season against the defending champion Dodgers at the Tokyo Dome.
Who will win this game on Friday? Tune in to the Marquee Sports Network at 11:00 PM EST to see who comes out ahead. Start your free trial of Fubo now to get started watching.
