The Blue Jays trounced the Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series, taking a 1-0 lead with an 11-4 win. Aided by a grand slam from Addison Barger, Toronto never looked back after a 9-run sixth inning.
It is now on Los Angeles to try to steal a game on the road, and they will send one of their aces, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, to the mound in order to attempt to do so. Yamamoto has proven to be a big-game pitcher, leading the Dodgers to a World Series victory last season.
Shohei Ohtani homered in Game 1, but the rest of the Dodgers’ elite offense was relatively quiet, with only 6 hits on the night. Ohtani is the most feared player in all of baseball, and he will no doubt look to break the game open early with one swing of the bat.
The Blue Jays are starting to feel like a team of destiny, but the Dodgers have the more talented roster and can easily get back into the series with a dominant performance in Game 2.
