The wait is over as two franchises enter the NBA Finals looking to win their first championship in NBA history. The Thunder and the Pacers have dominated throughout the playoffs, and now the two best teams from each conference meet on their collision course with the ultimate prize on the line.
The star point guard matchup between Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Tyrese Haliburton is worth the price of admission alone, as each has taken their game to another level this postseason.
Gilgeous-Alexander is looking to complete the trifecta of winning the regular season NBA MVP Award, Finals MVP Award, and the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy all in the same season. Only ten players have ever accomplished the feat, and no one has done it since LeBron James in 2013.
Haliburton has established himself as one of the premier players in the league during the playoffs, and adding a championship to his resume would solidify him as one of the brightest young superstars in the sport.
