The Guardians have quietly been the class of the American League Central for the last decade, winning the division six times and finishing second three times. They’ve won in each of their last two seasons as well, ending in a 4-1 ALCS loss in 2024 and a 2-1 ALWC loss in 2025. They’ll be depending on all-world third baseman Jose Ramirez, who is starting his 14th year with the club. The Guardians big offseason addition was Rhys Hoskins, who they hope can return to his 2022 form, when he hit 30 HR, before injuries slowed him down.
It’s hard to believe the Mariners have made the playoffs just six times during their entire history, dating back to 1977. They are on a run of five consecutive winning seasons, with their 2025 campaign almost resulting in their first World Series appearance, as they lost Game 7 to the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS. Seattle returns virtually all of their key players, highlighted by Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez, one of the best 1-2 combinations in all of baseball.
