Jaden Bradley’s fall-away jumper at the buzzer lifted second-ranked Arizona past No. 7 Iowa State, the No. 5 seed in the tournament, 82-80 on Friday night. The Wildcats weathered a 14-2 start by the Cyclones as Anthony Dell’Orso came off the bench for 26 points. Ivan Kharchenkov scored 17 points to go with three steals, with Bradley finishing with 15 points and seven assists. Tobe Awaka put up 10 points and 10 rebounds for Arizona.

Houston needed no such drama as the No. 5-ranked Cougars hammered No. 14 Kansas, the third seed, 69-47 on Friday night. The Cougars held the Jayhawks to 24.6% shooting while Kingston Flemings finished with 21 points and three steals. Chris Cenac Jr. went for 17 points and 14 rebounds in the rout.

The Wildcats won the lone meeting against the Cougars this season, getting a 73-66 win at Houston on Feb. 21. Brayden Burries averages 15.8 points for Arizona, while Koa Peat scores 13.4 points per game, and Awaka grabs 9.6 rebounds a night. Flemings puts up averages of 16.6 points and 5.2 assists, Emanuel Sharp drops 15.5 points per game, and Cenac secures 7.6 boards per outing.
