Houston won its third straight game on Wednesday night, routing visiting UCF 79-55. Kingston Flemings went for 18 points and six assists for the Cougars while Chris Cenac Jr. posted 14 points and 10 rebounds. Milos Uzan added 12 points as Houston held the Knights to just 19 points in the first half while taking a double-digit lead on the way to improving to 8-1 in the Big 12.
BYU’s woes continued on Wednesday night with a 99-92 road loss at Oklahoma State. AJ Dybantsa’s 36 points weren’t enough in the loss. Richie Saunders put up 20 points and eight rebounds, and Robert Wright III scored 15 points as the Cougars fell to 5-4 in Big 12 play.
Houston comes in with three straight wins over BYU and an 8-3 lead in the all-time series. Flemings averages 17.0 points and 5.5 assists, with Emanuel Sharp netting 15.9 points per game and Cenac snaring 7.8 rebounds a night. Dybantsa is the nation’s top scorer, averaging 23.9 points for BYU, while Saunders drops 19.5 points a game, and Wright puts up 17.4 points and 5.2 assists.
