The 11th-ranked Jackson State Tigers (5-1) take a four-game winning streak into the inaugural Las Vegas HBCU Classic against their longtime rivals, the Grambling State Tigers (3-3), who come off a win last week.

Jackson State comes off a bye and is 3-0 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference after a 38-34 win over visiting Alabama State on Oct. 11. JaCobian Morgan triggers the offense, completing 61.7% of his throws for 1,120 yards and 11 touchdowns with just two interceptions. Ahmad Miller leads the ground attack with 515 yards and three scores, while Jameel Gardner Jr. comes in with 25 catches for 340 yards and a TD. Defensively, Quincy Ivory leads the squad with 4.5 sacks and also has an interception.
Tre Bradford scored on a three-yard run with 1:42 remaining last week to lead Grambling State to a 20-16 road win at Arkansas-Pine Bluff as the Tigers improved to 1-2 in the SWAC. Bradford finished with 123 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carrie,s while C’Zavian Teasett was 18-of-29 for 148 yards, with a scoring pass and a pick. Jordan Bride gave Grambling State a 14-7 lead in the third quarter with a six-yard TD reception, and Markel Linzer had a pair of interceptions in the win.
Grambling State won last year’s meeting 41-20 at home on Sept. 21, 2024, to snap a two-game losing slide in the rivalry and leads the all-time series 43-27.
