Game Preview
Nashville comes in as one of the more seasoned teams in the NHL, led by five players over the age of 30. Filip Forsberg leads the team in both goals (22) and assists (33), though it hasn’t translated into much success, as he sits at a minus-16. Goaltending has been a major sore spot, as 29-year-old Juuse Saros leads the NHL with 25 losses. His .897 SV% ranks near the overall league average of .895, but the Predators score the second-fewest goals in the NHL (158), leaving them little room for error.
The Kraken are a unique team in that they don’t boast a single standout goal scorer. Rather, they have nine different players who have scored between 10 and 19 goals for the season. 28-year-old center Jared McCann leads in total points (44), with 15 goals and 29 assists. The power play has been a sore spot for Seattle, as at just 18.45% success, they fall well short of the league’s 21.69% average.
Seattle and Nashville met earlier in the season (November 20, 2024), with the Kraken securing a 3-0 victory at home.
