Baseball fans can rejoice—the waiting is finally over. The 2025 MLB regular season is officially here, and the league has a great set of games to kick things off.

With 24 matchups in total, 28 of the 30 teams will all be playing this Thursday, with the only exceptions being the Colorado Rockies and the Tampa Bay Rays, who will start their season on Friday.

To get things started, the American League champion New York Yankees will throw the day’s first pitch as they face the Milwaukee Brewers at Yankee Stadium. Juan Soto is no longer wearing a Yankees uniform, but Aaron Judge is still in town, and the Bronx Bombers will try to make up for the missing production by adding two former MVPs to the lineup in Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt.

The defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers and Shohei Ohtani will play in their home stadium for the first time since winning the title in a matchup with the Detroit Tigers. They are already 2-0 on the season after winning both games of the Tokyo Series.

The Chicago Cubs are one of the last teams to play. They get a night game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, as they try to bounce back from the two losses they suffered in Japan.
