After falling short in the opening match, England bounced back in emphatic fashion in the second T20 at Wellington, chasing down a target of 186 with an over to spare. Jos Buttler led from the front with a 63-run knock off 37 balls, while Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone provided explosive middle-order hitting.
England’s bowling attack, led by Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid, also found its rhythm, tightening the screws during the death overs. Head coach Matthew Mott will hope his side can carry that momentum into the decider, as England seek another away-series win before turning attention to their 2026 T20 World Cup preparations.
The Black Caps, however, have been formidable at home and will count on the experience of Kane Williamson, Devon Conway, and Daryl Mitchell to steady the innings against England’s pace attack. In the series opener, New Zealand’s spinners dominated conditions, with Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner combining for five wickets to seal the victory.
With the series now level, New Zealand will look to reclaim control on familiar turf. The key battle will be between England’s power hitters and New Zealand’s disciplined bowling unit, particularly during the powerplay overs.
This will be one you won’t want to miss tonight, make sure to tune into ESPN and catch all thr action.
