Oakland improved to 2-0 in Horizon League play, taking an 82-77 victory at Northern Kentucky on Wednesday night. Tuburu Naivalurua’s layup with 1:05 left put the Golden Grizzlies up for good, while Michael Houge scored 18 points to lead the offense. Brody Robinson put up 16 points and six assists, Isaac Garrett had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Khoi Thurmon picked off four steals in just 10 minutes of playing time.
Michigan State is 23-0 all-time against Oakland, most recently taking a 77-58 win in Detroit on Dec. 17, 2024. Kohler averages 14.0 points and 10.1 rebounds for the Spartans, with Fears putting up 11.5 points and 9.5 assists per game. Robinson gets averages of 16.3 points and 6.1 assists for the Golden Grizzlies, while Garrett nets 15.2 points and 6.9 boards per game.
