Game Preview
After a nine-game winning streak vaulted them up the standings, the Nuggets have settled into an inconsistent trend, alternating one win and one loss throughout their last six games. Most recently, the Nuggets secured a 116-110 home victory over the Sacramento Kings in a game where they trailed by nine points heading into the fourth quarter. Veteran guards Russell Westbrook and Jamal Murray provided the spark, combining to score 21 points while playing the entire quarter.
The talented but troubled Suns are mired in their difficulties, having won just four of their last 15 games. The slide has them out of the current playoff picture, as they now sit 11th in the Western Conference. They did show signs of life in their most recent outing, a 119-117 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, despite trailing by 19 points heading into the fourth quarter. It was the Kevin Durant and Collin Gillespie show, as they combined for 29 points to clinch a much-needed win.
This will be the fourth and final matchup of the season for the Nuggets and the Suns, with the Nuggets winning two of the previous three games.
