The No. 12 BYU Cougars (8-1) look to bounce back from their first loss when they host the TCU Horned Frogs (6-3) on Saturday night in a Big 12 Conference matchup.

BYU fell from the unbeaten ranks last week as it was overwhelmed at then-No. 8 Texas Tech by a 29-7 count. The Cougars, at 5-1 in the Big 12, are one of three teams in the conference with a single loss, along with the Red Raiders and Cincinnati. BYU’s only score came when the game was 26-0 as Bear Bachmeier connected with Chase Roberts on a six-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Bachmeier was 23-of-38 for 188 yards and threw an interception as the offense was held to just 255 yards.
TCU also comes off a loss last week, falling at home to Iowa State 20-17 when the Cyclones ran a punt back 79 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 6:32 to go, erasing what had been a 17-6 lead for the Horned Frogs. Josh Hoover finished 34-of-50 for 319 yards and a touchdown, but also threw two picks. Jordan Dwyer had 11 catches for 108 yards and a score, while Eric McAlister also caught 11 balls for 107 yards. Trent Battle had a touchdown run in the defeat.
The Horned Frogs have won five straight against BYU, including a 44-11 win at home in 2023, and lead the all-time series 7-5. The Cougars last beat TCU in 2007.
