How to Watch Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs:
- Date: Saturday, January 18, 2025
- Time: 4:30 PM ET
- Channel: ABC, ESPN, ESPN Deportes
- Stream: Fubo
The Texans are coming off a dominant 32-12 Wild Card victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, proving they belong in the postseason spotlight. Houston’s defense was relentless, forcing Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert into a career-high 4 interceptions, with Derek Stingley snagging two of them.
On the offensive side, rookie QB C.J. Stroud continues to impress, managing the game efficiently and keeping the Texans’ playoff hopes alive. Houston is relishing its underdog role yet again against the top-seeded Chiefs.
The Chiefs, fresh off a first-round bye, come into the game as the team to beat. Kansas City has been rolling, winning six straight games from Weeks 12 to 17 before resting their starters in a meaningless Week 18 blowout loss to the Denver Broncos.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes continues to lead the charge with MVP-caliber play. In their last meeting with Houston on Dec. 21, Mahomes threw for 260 yards and a touchdown, adding a rushing score to seal the victory. With cornerback Jaylen Watson expected to return from injured reserve, the Chiefs’ defense should get a boost as well.
When these two teams faced off in Week 16, Kansas City pulled out a 27-19 win at Arrowhead. The game was a tightly contested battle, with Mahomes’ dual-threat ability and the Chiefs’ balanced attack proving too much for Houston. Stroud held his own, throwing for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns, but a critical interception helped the Chiefs hold on for the win.
Prediction: Chiefs 31, Texans 21
The Texans have been a great story this season, and their Wild Card win showcased their potential. But this is Kansas City in the playoffs, and Patrick Mahomes at home is a different animal. Expect the Chiefs to come out strong, leveraging their high-powered offense and playoff experience to punch their ticket to the AFC Championship Game.
