This will be the second meeting in three days between the U.S. and Ireland. In the first match, the USWNT earned a dominant 4-0 win, with goals from Avery Patterson, Sam Coffey, Rose Lavelle, and Alyssa Thompson.
The U.S. Women’s National Team dominated their previous match against Ireland, outshooting them 28 to 1, holding 68% of the possession, and completing 526 passes to Ireland’s 258. The USWNT will aim for a similar performance in Sunday’s rematch as they continue building momentum ahead of official competitions later this year.
Before their win against Ireland, the USWNT had picked up a 4-0 win over Jamaica, with goals from Ally Sentnor and Lynn Biyendolo. Before that, the U.S. took down China 3-0, thanks to goals from Catarina Macario, Sam Coffey, and Lindsey Heaps.
