The Utah Utes (10-2) close out their season with the No. 15 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings as they take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-5) in the Las Vegas Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon.

Utah goes into the game with new head coach Morgan Scalley taking over after Kyle Whittingham took the job at Michigan. The Utes will also be without offensive tackles Spencer Fano and Caleb Lomu and defensive lineman Logan Fano, all of whom declared for the NFL draft. Utah won its final five games, including a 31-21 win at Kansas on Nov. 28. Devon Dampier threw for 2,180 yards and 22 touchdowns with five interceptions to go with 687 rushing yards and seven scores. Wayshawn Parker ran for 931 yards and six touchdowns while Bird Ficklin and Naquari Rogers scored 10 touchdowns each on the ground. Leading receiver Ryan Davis has been dealing with an injury after making 57 catches for 659 yards and four scores, and may not play. John Henry Daley led the defense with 11.5 sacks, and Jackson Bennee had four picks.
Quarterback Dylan Raiola entered the transfer portal for Nebraska, with running back Emmett Johnson and guard Rocco Spindler also opting out. Defensive coordinator John Butler was fired, and associate head coach Phil Snow will fill in, making the defensive calls for the bowl game. TJ Lateef is expected to start at quarterback after throwing for 722 yards and four touchdowns in six appearances, while Kwinten Ives is the top available rusher with 119 yards on 16 carries. Nyziah Hunter caught 43 balls for 617 yards and five scores.
The Cornhuskers have never lost to the Utes in four meetings, with the last a 49-22 Nebraska victory at home on Sept. 5, 1992.
