However, the Lynx were hounded all night and couldn’t find their rhythm, shooting just 34.9% from the field as a team. Star Napheesa Collier had a rare off game, scoring just 12 points on 6-of-18 shooting, with five turnovers. After a first quarter that saw the Lynx grab a 20-12 lead, they’d be outscored 62-39 the rest of the way, leading to the 74-59 loss.
Washington had won four of five games to claw their way back to an even 8-8 record before their most recent game, a 79-71 loss on the road against the Dallas Wings. The Mystics stumbled out of the gate, finding themselves down 28-9 after the first quarter, and never could recover. Sonia Citron scored 22 points to go with 10 rebounds, while Shakira Austin chipped in with 18 points in the loss.
