The Western Michigan Broncos (8-4) look to avenge their only Mid-American Conference loss of the season on Saturday and win their first MAC title since 2016 when they take on the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks (7-5) in the conference championship game at Ford Field in Detroit.

Western Michigan finished a 7-1 MAC campaign with a 31-21 win at Eastern Michigan on Nov. 25. The Broncos took a 31-7 lead into the fourth quarter before surrendering two long scoring drives. Broc Lowry ran for 92 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries, while also throwing for 100 yards. Jalen Buckley and Talique Williams also added scoring runs. Aaron Wofford, Sefa Saipaia, and Joey Pope intercepted passes as the defense forced five turnovers.
Miami (Ohio) got to 6-2 in the MAC on Nov. 29, beating visiting Ball State 45-24, and winning a tiebreaker to advance to the conference title game ahead of Ohio and Toledo. Thomas Gotkowski threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns while Jordan Brunson and D’Shawntae Jones scored on the ground. Jermaine Agee recovered a fumble in the end zone for the defense. Braylon Isom caught two touchdown passes, and Kam Perry also had a touchdown grab.
The Redhawks scored 17 fourth-quarter points to run past the visiting Broncos 26-17 on Oct. 25 for their second straight win over Western Michigan. Miami (Ohio) leads the all-time series 39-24-1 and looks for its second MAC title in the last three seasons.
