How YouTube TV Customers Can Redeem $20 Offer Amid ESPN Standoff
The day YouTube TV customers have been waiting for is finally here – well, kind of.
On Tuesday, Nov. 11 YouTube TV finally announced how its customers can redeem a $20 credit as the company continues its standoff with Disney, resulting in customers losing access to both ABC and ESPN. Twelve days ago YouTube TV announced it would be removing the Disney products from its platform after Google and Disney failed to agree on a new carriage rights deal.
In the initial announcement, YouTube TV said it would offer customers a $20 credit if the Disney products were “unavailable for an extended period of time.”

In a new message to customers, YouTube TV made it clear the company is attempting to finalize negotiations with Disney.
“We’ve been working in good faith to negotiate a deal with Disney that pays them fairly for their content and returns their programming to YouTube TV. We know it’s been disappointing to lose Disney content, and we want you to know we deeply appreciate your patience. In light of the disruption, we’re offering our subscribers a $20 credit,” the company said in a statement.
YouTube TV then offered directions on how customers can redeem the $20 offer.
”To redeem your credit, please go to the ‘Updates’ tab in Membership Settings using your web browser, and follow the prompts. Once complete, this discount will be applied to your next bill for YouTube TV,” the company said. Redeeming the offer requires two clicks, one on the hyperlinked “Updates” tab and then one more on a new landing page before the credit is applied to the user’s account.
