Hysterics As Delivery Driver Hides Package Under Mat, but There’s a Problem
A delivery driver’s valiant attempt to hide a large package under a doormat has left the internet in hysterics.
TikTok user Del (@dayswithdel__) shared a hilarious video of the moment she pulled into her driveway, only to see that she’d missed the delivery driver while she was out. That was no problem however, as the driver left the package on her doorstep, somewhat hidden underneath the tiny doormat.
This was no small package though, as it was in fact a large kitchen table—so hiding it under a mat didn’t exactly work. In the video, the black and white doormat looked miniscule as it was draped over the huge cardboard box.
Del couldn’t help but laugh at the delivery driver’s attempt to hide her order and shared the clip on TikTok. Since posting the video on February 6, it has gone viral with more than 6.9 million views and 1.3 million likes at the time of writing.
Newsweek has contacted @dayswithdel__ via TikTok for comment.
Alongside the video, the TikTok caption reads: “I know they just had to be giggling to themselves too.”
Data from Statista revealed that 51 percent of customers who were asked what they would most like to change about their online purchases cited faster delivery times, and 42 percent wanted more clarity on the exact delivery times.
The cost of delivery was also a common issue, as 41 percent would aim to improve that, while 30 percent of respondents wanted better packaging.
Indeed, 65 percent of online shoppers in the U.S. would be put off from making a purchase by high shipping costs. When asked what other reasons why customers would be less likely to buy something online, they highlighted inconvenient returns policies, unsuitable delivery options or lack of tracking updates.

The TikTok Response
After the video went viral, internet users have lauded the “hilarious king or queen” for trying to make the huge package look totally inconspicuous. It didn’t work, but it certainly gave Del a moment to remember.
Needless to say, TikTok users couldn’t cope with the amusing video, and it’s already generated mor than 2,200 comments online.
One TikTok user wrote: “Did the delivery notice say ‘package was left under the doormat for security’?”
Another person commented: “I wouldn’t even be mad at the delivery person. I’d be laughing and flat out impressed.”
Another TikTok user joked: “10/10 no notes.”
“The equivalent of Superman using glasses to disguise himself,” added one commenter.
While another comment reads: “That’s so amazing. They deserve a raise.”
