Hysterics at Woman’s Brother Showing Their Parents How He Used to Sneak Out
Getting older can bring parents and children close in new ways—sometimes, it can be pretty surprising.
A video posted to TikTok by Sav (@savs.w) has gone viral after capturing the moment her brother revealed to their parents how he used to sneak out of the house. The footage shows Sav’s brother taking out a window screen to climb out to his parents’ surprise. Since the clip was shared on July 9, it has received more than 7.3 million views and over 836,000 likes.
“My brother showing my parents how he used to sneak out,” Sav captioned the video. “Family time looks different these days.”
In the video, Sav’s parents appear amused as her brother tinkers with the window screen to uninstall it.
While Sav’s parents seemed entertained by her brother’s revelation, no one was as tickled as her brother himself. The end of the clip zooms in on his wide grin after he successfully clears his path.
Some were distracted by an attraction to Sav’s brother—”With the utmost respect…do you need a sister-in-law?” @k.burns 90 wrote—while the video prompted others to share their own stories of teenage misbehaving.
“I’ll never forget my sister calling me asking if I snuck out,” @skinsey23 posted. “I said yes. I hear my mom in the background go, ‘You what?!’ Like we didn’t have a basement back door. To add: my sister was calling because she asked my mom if she could sneak out, and my mom said no.”
“My parents regretted putting me in gymnastics when I showed them how I jumped into a somersault and tuck-rolled my way out, because the grass wasn’t as soft as a landing pad,” @renollive wrote.
“Just told my mom I used to sneak out from our two-story,” @bethmac589 wrote. “She asked ‘How…did you get down?’ I’d take out the pool ladder earlier and set it under the deck roof before my escape. Boom!”
Many in the comments said that the transition from adolescence to adulthood is distinct when it comes to parent-child relationships: “After my brothers all turned a certain age, it was like a switch flipped, and they couldn’t wait to show and tell all the misbehaving they got up to, to our parents,” @e_c_r_07 wrote.
Some who commented even said there is still an awareness of movements in their house—but now, the tables have turned.
“I just walked out the front, because their bedroom was at the back of the house,” @whoompthereitis1 wrote. “This was before ring cameras. Now, I have access to their cameras, and I’ll ask them where they [are] going. I don’t live with them.”
