Incredible Find Hiding Under Bathtub Has Internet All Saying the Same Thing
The internet is amazed at what was found underneath a bathtub in a home.
A video of the unusual discovery was shared by Diablo Plumbing and Heating Ltd, a family-owned business in Scotland, garnering 1.4 million views on TikTok since it was first posted on January 4.
In the clip, we see the floor of the home’s bathroom dug up before the camera pans closer to show what was hiding underneath, a spiral staircase. The stairs appear to made from slabs of stone, ascending into a dark space underneath the room.

Many Americans undertake home renovations, although most of them don’t make a discovery like this one.
According to Statista, 70 percent of home renovations were interior room remodels in 2023.
When it comes to bathroom renovations, the main motivation for wanting to remodel last year was people no longer able to “stand the style of the old bathroom.” That was followed by reasons such as the break-down of old bathroom décor and improving a home’s resale value.
The viral video received hundreds of comments from people sharing their thoughts and reactions to the discovery.
A number of users theorized that the hidden area underneath the bathroom might be an oubliette, which is a medieval torture chamber which often had a trap door.
Attracting reactions from hundreds of other TikTok users, many called for the same thing to be done following the unusual discovery: placing glass over it so it can be on display.
One user, @seanotelulah, called for a glass door to be installed, to which the posters of the video responded that it would be “smart” to do so.
“Lighting and a glass floor I’m thinking,” said Geoff.
“Toughened Glass floor bathroom, with staircase cleaned and lit up with lights,” TikTok user SM wrote.
Many TikTok users in the comments section of the post shared their amazement at what was discovered.
“That’s pretty mad though but would probably freak me out to know that was beneath me whilst I was trying to soak!” said Fleur.
Siman Cairns commented: “That’s incredible! Get down there asap! I need to know what’s down there!”
“It’s like those dreams where you find another room in your house you never knew about,” said Julie Walters.
Andrea Crosby shared: “It’s wild to me how many people discover secret parts to their houses under bathroom floors. This is the 3rd such discovery I’ve seen on here in the last couple months.”
