Ja Morant Teases NBA Slam Dunk Appearance Following Mac McClung Epic Performance
The NBA Slam Dunk Competition has lacked star power for the last handful of years, but that could all change next season, or at least we hope.

Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant hinted at a possible appearance in the Slam Dunk Competition while the 2025 Slam Dunk Competition took place.
Here’s what Morant had to say via X.

Morant is one of the more electrifying players in the NBA and arguably the most athletic player in the league; however, we have yet to see this on display in the NBA All-Star game on Saturday night.
This isn’t the first time that Morant has teased participating in the dunk contest. Just a year ago, he had this to say about competing.
In 2021, Morant told Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks he would only consider participating in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest if he was paid $1 million.
His comments from four years ago still hold weight today, and his comments via X from Saturday will do the same.
The 25-year-old can jump out of the gym, and we’ve seen him display his hops during NBA games. Morant has had a handful of dunks that have made NBA fans jaw-drop, and we would love to see him do the same during All-Star weekend.
Mac McClung, the G League star of the Orland Magic, is now a three-time NBA Slam Dunk Competition winner. He has won it three times in a row.
McClung’s dunks are incredible, and he seems to have been the overwhelming favorite in the last handful of years. However, that could all change if there were some real stars out on the court with him, like Morant.
Morant is one heck of a player, and having him in the Slam Dunk Competition would do wonders for the NBA.
He may just be teasing fans like he did last year, but this gives fans hope for the NBA’s All-Star weekend.
