The Philadelphia Eagles are determined to fix whatever is ailing them, particularly on offense, and the star offensive trio of quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver A.J. Brown are leading the charge heading into Week 6.
That trio been polarizing, to say the least, and they seemed to be out of sync during the team’s 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Hurts is playing far below the standard he set for himself over the last few years, Barkley’s production has taken a significant drop after rushing for 2,005 yards last season, and there are questions about Brown’s future with the team.
But after another disappointing offensive showing, Hurts, Barkley, and Brown appeared set on figuring out a solution.

“I’m told Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and Saquon Barkley had a long, positive conversation today,” Philly Voice’s Jimmy Kempski reported on X on Monday. “Lasted a couple hours.”
The Eagles’ offensive struggles have been the subject of great debate this season, with the team ranking 11th in scoring but 30th in total offense. Brown’s usage in particular has come under scrutiny. He’s fired off cryptic social media messages and then had to assure everyone that he wants to stay with the Eagles.
However, the team’s first loss since last December saw Barkley end up with a career-low nine touches. Afterward, Barkley was asked what the fix for Philly’s issues are, to which he didn’t have an answer.
“I don’t really know what you want,” Barkley said after the game, per The Athletic’s Zach Berman on October 5. “If I touch the ball too much sometimes, we’re not throwing enough. If we throw it too much and I only have nine touches — I’m not in the business of, what are we doing enough?
“I’m in the business of winning football games. We didn’t win the football game. With nine touches, we had the opportunity to win the football game still. We weren’t detailed enough. Too many mistakes, too many penalties.”

Berman also revealed the “most befuddling stat” about the Eagles’ offense so far.
“They’ve had three-and-outs on a league-high 47.2% of their offensive drives,” Berman posted on Monday. “No. 2 on the list is Tennessee. No. 3 on the list is Cincinnati. It’s beyond comprehension for an offense with this much talent to lead the league in that category.
“It’s only been 5 games, but consider this: No team has had a worse 3-and-out percentage since 2005! (The 2005 49ers went 4-12.)”
Perhaps the meeting between Barkley, Brown, and Hurts can serve as the rally cry the team needs to get back on track.
