Jason Peters officially retired from the NFL after a strong 19-season career that includes multiple All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods and includes a Super Bowl win. The longtime and stalwart offensive lineman announced his retirement, only to transition to a front office position.

Hours after it was announced that Peters was walking away from the game, the Seahawks revealed that he would be joining the team in a front office role.
Peters now holds the position of Veteran Mentor with the Seahawks. This could lead to the OL also transitioning into coaching or personnel in the next phase of his career, but he is officially part of the front office for the team.

Peters spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons with the Seahawks, with the 2024 season spent entirely on the practice squad. It is likely that he fell into the role of a mentor simply out of spending 21 seasons in the NFL.
Peters is one of the most respected linemen the game has ever seen, and his list of accolades is proof of that success. He won a Super Bowl with the Eagles during the 2017 season and also has two First-team All-Pro nods, four Second-team All-Pro nods, and nine Pro Bowl nods.
Despite finishing his career with the Seahawks, Peters played for the Buffalo Bills, Eagles, Chicago Bears, and Dallas Cowboys. The bulk of his career was with the Eagles, where he spent 11 seasons.
Peters will not transition into a front office role with the Seahawks as he continues his career in the NFL.
More and more players are taking on prominent roles in coaching or within organizations, and it is fantastic to see that Peters will be responsible for being a mentor on a grander scale.
