Jets Rookie WR Malachi Corley Plans to Learn From Aaron Rodgers By Living With Him

As the New York Jets get set for the upcoming NFL season, they are hoping for a bit of luck this year. Just a few plays into the year last season and they lost starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers to an Achilles rupture. The 40-year-old quarterback would miss the rest of the season and New York went on to miss the playoffs.

It was a terrible start to their tenure together but Rodgers has worked tirelessly to make his return. He should be all good to go for this season and is ready to show what the NFL missed last year. Rodgers will be surrounded by multiple talented offensive weapons at his disposal so a healthy season from him likely means good things for the Jets.

New York even drafted a few more players to help Rodgers out, including rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley. Corley was taken in the third round with pick No. 65 by the Jets. His ability to make contested catches should be something that Rodgers values heavily and the veteran quarterback wants to build more chemistry with him.

So much so that he has offered Corley to live in his guest house, and Corley has decided to accept that offer. The two have been talking a lot since Corley was drafted, and the rookie is looking to learn as much as possible from the veteran. While Rodgers has certainly had his share of weird off-the-field moments, he is one of the better quarterbacks to ever play the game when healthy.

It’s not uncommon for a veteran to take a rookie under his wing, and Rodgers wants to maximize the time he still has left to play in the NFL. By getting to know Corley better, it could help translate to better chemistry on the field, which would result in more potential wins for the Jets.

Rodgers has won everything he may want over the course of his career but he is still looking for another Super Bowl title. He believed that the Jets were the team to help him reach that milestone, so the injury was just a setback for him. New York has the means to be a very competitive team this coming season, with Rodgers at the center of it all. While the Jets haven’t been very good in recent times, they also have never had a signal-caller with the skillset of Rodgers. His first year in New York ended in disaster but he is looking to make sure his second year ends with a much different finish.
