Josh Allen Incident Leads to Double NFL Punishment for Steelers Cam Heyward
The holiday spirt wasn’t in the air last weekend when the Buffalo Bills squared off against the Pittsburgh Steelers – at least not between star quarterback Josh Allen and defensive tackle Cam Heyward.
After suffering a 26-7 loss at the hands of the Bills, Heyward made it clear he wasn’t too pleased with Allen’s actions during the contest. The former Walter Payton Man of the Year winner alleged that Allen kneed him in the stomach during the first half.
“[I was] ticked off the entire game because, as a quarterback, they’re protected, but I’m not,” Heyward said after the game. “It just pisses me off.” With just under six minutes left in the first half, Heyward claims Allen kneed him while he was attempting to get up after tackling the quarterback following a short run.

“He even said after, ‘I had to do something to get you off me,'” Heyward said, suggesting it was an intentional act. Allen didn’t downplay his altercations with the longtime Steelers defensive lineman.
“Maybe [got me going] a little bit,” Allen said of Heyward. “We love the competitiveness out of this game. He’s such a great player. Sometimes, you need fire like that to get you going.”
The two sparred once again later in the contest when Heyward was flagged for taunting after getting in Allen’s face after the Bills quarterback scored a touchdown. Unfortunately for Heyward, that wasn’t the only punishment handed out by the NFL for his behavior.
On Saturday, Dec. 6, the league announced an $11,593 fine for the longtime Steelers star.
