Julianne Hough Shares Dinner Date With Bachelor Nation Star
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Now that the Dancing with the Stars “Mirrorball” trophy has been awarded to Danny Amendola, is co-host Julianne Hough ready to hand out a rose? The 36-year-old dancer, actress, and host was spotted out to dinner with Tanner Courtad, a figure Bachelor Nation franchise will recognize from both The Bachelorette and Bachelor In Paradise.
The duo was spotted in photos obtained by Just Jared at The Sportsman’s Lodge, a restaurant in Studio City, CA, on Friday, December 9. They were both dressed casually in workout clothes, Hough sporting a green coat and leggings while Courtad, 31, wore a black T-shirt and shorts.
Courtad and Hough seemed to be smiling as they left the restaurant, and Hough even stopped to let a passerby pet her dog, Sunny.
Courtad, a fitness instructor, was featured on Charity Lawson’s season of The Bachelorette in 2023. He was eliminated, but returned to the franchise on Bachelor in Paradise later that year.
Hough dated American Idol and Wheel of Fortune host Ryan Seacrest, with whom she remains close friends, from 2010 to 2013, and was married to hockey player Brooks Laich from 2017 until their separation in 2020. She recently caught fan attention by sharing a seemingly flirty exchange with DWTS winner Danny Amendola live on air.
DWTS and the Bachelor franchise both air on ABC, so it’s possible that Courtad and Hough were connected for professional reasons. Several Bach Nation stars have appeared on the dance competition program, including Jenn Tran and Lawson herself.
ABC’s official bio for Courtad describes him as “100% husband material,” adding that he “is extremely close with his family and hopes to find a relationship as special as the one his parents have.” The bio continues, “While growing up, Tanner and his family rescued over 50 dogs and he hopes to rescue more with his future wife.”
Hough is also a dog lover, and lost two of her beloved pets to a coyote attack in 2019.
