Kansas City Chiefs Player Hints at ‘Last Time’ With Emotional Message
For the first time in over a decade, the Kansas City Chiefs are not going to the playoffs.
They will not make it back to the Super Bowl for a fourth-straight season.
Patrick Mahomes, their ace, has a torn ACL and is out for the entire season and could miss a majority of 2026, depending on rehab.
Times are changing at Arrowhead Stadium, and although the empire isn’t fully crumbled to the ground, the cracks have turned into fractures, and debris is starting to tumble for the NFL’s most recent dynasty.
On Wednesday, the trend of a falling kingdom continued, as one of the team’s starters posted on social messaging, teasing that this could be his final ride with the Chiefs.

Linebacker Leo Chenal posted on Instagram a story with photos of his triumphant moments with Kansas City, with the song “if this is the last time” by LANY overlayed in the background.
Chenal, who has been on the Chiefs since being drafted out of Wisconsin, has worked his way up to being one of the more dependable cogs on a strong Chiefs defense. In 2025, he’s 13th in his position at sacks with three and 31 solo tackles to his name, along with an interception.
Per Pro Football Focus, he is the 21st-ranked linebacker in the NFL this season and has played more snaps than over half of the players at his role in the league.
Chenal will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, which has led to the speculation that today’s social post might be the beginning of the end for the linebacker in Kansas City.
A two-time Super Bowl champion, Chenal was selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Before the pros, he was named Big Ten Linebacker of the Year for the Badgers in 2021.
