Key Masters Pairings that Will Have Fans Glued to Augusta National
The 2025 Masters Tournament is becoming a reality, and it’s happening really fast. All the details are getting finalized, including the first round tee times and pairings, which were announced on Tuesday.
The 95 players in the field have been grouped into 31 threesomes and one duo. All groups will tee off on Hole 1, with the first group starting at 7:40 a.m. (all times Eastern).
As always, some groups will receive more attention than others based on the players in each group. For the first two rounds, there will be some really interesting pairings, both in the morning and in the afternoon waves.
So, let’s take a look at the key pairings that all fans will want to keep an eye on.
Key 2025 Masters Pairings at Augusta National
The first group with these characteristics will be the one made up of World No. 4 Collin Morikawa, four-time LIV Golf winner Joaquin Niemann and recent Houston Open winner Min Woo Lee. This group will tee off at 9:47 am.

A little less than half an hour later, at 10:15 a.m., World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will begin his title defense. He will be joined by double major champion Justin Thomas and reigning US Amateur champion Jose Luis “Josele” Ballester.
Those present at the first tee will not have much time to recover from the passage of Scheffler there, because only 11 minutes later, the three-time major champion Jordan Spieth, one of the fan’s favorites of the PGA Tour, will start his peformance. He will be joined by European and LIV Golf star Tyrrell Hatton and three-time American based tour winner Tom Kim.
At 1:01 pm, tee time is scheduled for three players who, while not among the top favorites, will undoubtedly have the fans’ full attention due to their extensive track record in professional golf. They are Adam Scott, Xander Schauffele and Viktor Hovland.

Eleven minutes later it will be the turn of the World No. 2 and one of the heavy favorites for the title, Rory McIlroy. The Northern Irishman will be accompanied by two of the biggest young stars of the moment, Ludvig Aberg and Akshay Bhatia.
And to keep fans glued to the tournament until the very end, six more heavyweights will tee off in the second- and third-from-the-last groups: Hideki Matsuyama, Bryson DeChambeau and Shane Lowry (1:23 p.m.) and Jon Rahm, Wyndham Clark and Tommy Fleetwood (1:34 p.m.).
It should not be forgotten that there are many other big names in the field who may not be playing in groups with a high golfing pedigree, but are still among the favorites. Such is the case with Brooks Koepka (tee time 12:50) and Sergio Garcia (tee time 12:22), among others.
