The New York Knicks will be taking on the Charlotte Hornets tonight as they try to get back on track. New York lost its last game and they are just a few games up on the Indiana Pacers for the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference standings.

New York holds a record of 43-25 on the season heading into this game. They are 21-14 on the road this year.
As we get closer to the start of the NBA playoffs, each game becomes even more meaningful. New York enters this game against Charlotte as the favorites but they are dealing with some injuries.
Multiple players have landed on the injury report for this game against the Hornets, including star guard Jalen Brunson and center Mitchell Robinson. Both players have been ruled out of this game, leaving the Knicks a little shorthanded.
New York has gone 5-5 over their past 10 games overall so this game is crucial for them. Charlotte is one of the worst teams in the entire NBA so making sure to take care of business here is crucial for New York going down the stretch of the year.

As for the Hornets, they are simply playing for pride at this point in the year. They enter this game with a record of 17-51 on the season.
This team is currently slotted in the No. 14 spot within the East standings and they enter having lost two games in a row. Charlotte can play spoiler for teams down the stretch as they look ahead to next season.

But they come in with their own set of injuries as well. Star guard LaMelo Ball headlines the injury report as he deals with right wrist soreness.
Ball was listed as probable for the contest and will play in the game.

The Hornets star has been playing lights out this year and many believe he was snubbed out of an All-Star appearance. For the season, Ball has averaged 25.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
While this game isn’t between two playoff teams, it could have a say in how things shake out depending on whether New York can come away with the victory.
