Kyle Busch Loses It on Team Radio After Clash Chaos – ‘This Is the Last Warning!’
Kyle Busch’s driving in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Clash at Bowman Gray certainly wasn’t what anyone would describe as uneventful. Racing on the tight, quarter-mile track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is always challenging.
Busch faced more than just close quarters as his night consisted of cautions and clashes – true to the name of the event – but still managed to pull through with some determination. The event, held as a precursor to the main season, included practice, qualifying, and heat races before culminating in the main race planned to take place on Sunday night.
Busch took to the track with Richard Childress Racing, starting off with a humble qualifying in the 29th position. Kicking off his race by lining up on the outside of Row 4 in Heat 1 wasn’t as promising as he might have hoped. The 25-lap heat saw early conflicts that added fuel to the fire. On the sixth lap, Busch found himself caught in an incident alongside drivers Justin Haley and Noah Gragson, prompting a spin and bringing out a caution on a night that was anything but smooth sailing.

One part of the evening saw Busch’s No. 8 car face another spin, this time to its dismay courtesy of the No. 7 Spire driver. These early pitfalls were not silently ignored by Busch, whose frustration was evident through heated radio messages.
Kyle Busch said: “Never gave me one (expletive) corner.”
The conversation continued with Busch’s spotter, Derek Kneeland, acknowledging the chaos that seemed to ensue on the track. Kneeland, fully aware of the anger unfolding in his driver, sought a balanced approach, pushing for a calm response.
Spotter Derek Kneeland said: “Oh, I’m aware. I got plenty to say but I’m trying to turn over a new leaf.”
Trying to avoid escalation from a heated on-track incident to further drama, as he offered advice to hold Busch’s spirit at bay against the Spire car driver’s tactics.
“Just stay off him here. Give it to him when you need it, when it matters.”
This came from the knowledge of a warning looming overhead.
Spotter Derek Kneeland warned: “Alright, we’re getting a warning here. And they said this is the last warning. Come off the bumper.”
Busch didn’t shy from hinting at the disparity in rules.
Kyle Busch replied: “It’s okay to do it under green, though. Got it.”

Despite the dips and clashes in the initial heat, Busch’s performance shone through as he worked his way up, eventually securing a fourth-place finish. This recovery positioned him among the frontrunners, advancing him to the highly anticipated Cook Out Clash event set to launch at 8:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
This follows a disappointing 2024 season, wherein Busch and his fanbase have yearned for a turnaround from his first winless season of his career since 2004. He finished 20th in the standings – the worst result since his rookie season.
