Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, recently announced that she will be delivering a brand-new album in 2025, and she’s got a whole new look to go with the release.
The 38-year-old singer posted about her upcoming album on Instagram on the morning of Monday, January 27. Gaga shared a visual teaser of the album with a caption that read, “MAYHEM coming March 7. Pre-order now ladygaga.com,” revealing both the name and release date of the project.
In the video, the songstress can be seen in photographs where she is no longer sporting her signature long blonde locks. Gaga instead opted for a shorter cut and a darker color for her hair, reminiscent of Joan Jett. She also wore red lipstick with silver eyeshadow in the video, along with a black outfit and matching gloves.

Fans of the “Bad Romance” singer — also known as Little Monsters — took to the comments section of the post to share their reactions to the album announcement.
“OMGGGGGGGGGGG YASSS MOTHER FINALLY AFTER 5 YEARS!!!!😭😭😭 #MAYHEM 🖤🔥,” wrote one excited fan, while another added, “HERE TO SAVE 2025!!!!!” A third fan tagged a friend and noted, “waiting for that tour announcement next!!”
The singer made a statement about the upcoming album in a release where she confirmed that the album is set to feature 14 tracks. According to the release, a new single and music video will premiere on Sunday, February 2 during a commercial break at the 2025 Grammys. Gaga also made a comment about the album in the release, where she described the writing process for the album as akin to “reassembling a shattered mirror.” She also told fans, “The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved. Even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”
Gaga most recently signed on to be a performer at the upcoming FireAid benefit concert on Thursday, January 30. The New York City native is set to join other acts, including Billie Eilish, Earth, Wind & Fire, Jelly Roll, Stevie Nicks, and Joni Mitchell.
