Los Angeles took the first game of the season series between these two sides, winning the game by a score of 128-112. This game precluded the trade of Doncic to the Lakers, sending the NBA world into a full frenzy.
Now with the Lakers almost at full strength, they believe that they can go after another NBA title. The biggest weakness for Los Angeles is within the frontcourt but the team has managed to survive without a starting caliber center.
Doncic has made others such as Jaxson Hayes look more effective and it’s been great to see. The Lakers believe that if they can get into the postseason firing on all cylinders, they have a great chance to compete in the loaded West.
This game against the Knicks will be a test for Los Angeles to see how they match up with one of the elite East teams with Doncic on the roster. It should be a fun contest, with the two largest markets in the United States going at each other in this game.
