Lakers Star LeBron James Reveals He Will Miss NBA All-Star Game

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has revealed that he will not be playing in the NBA All-Star Game tonight. During his media availability before the game, James revealed that he is still dealing with an injury so he will not be in uniform.

Here is the full media from James:

James told the media that he is hopeful to play in the Lakers’ first game after the All-Star Break against the Charlotte Hornets on Feb. 19. The star revealed that he would be heading back to Los Angeles tonight to receive treatment for the injuries.

With James not playing, this will certainly be a bummer for a lot of people. Many were looking forward to seeing him take the court with all the other star players.

James has started a record 20 straight All-Star games, but his streak will end once the game tips off. The star is prioritizing the remainder of the Lakers’ season to ensure that he is fully healthy for the stretch run.

The addition of star guard Luka Doncic has also energized this Lakers team, and the duo should get better as the year goes on. James and Doncic have only played together for two games so far, giving them plenty of time to figure everything out.

James did reveal that the trade for Doncic has given him energy heading into the stretch run.

“Just the excitement to be able to add a caliber of player like that. It’s given me energy. Just excited to see what we can do…I think we can be really good going down the stretch.”

It remains to be seen how far the Lakers can go this season but James resting during the All-Star festivities could go a long way.
