Lane Kiffin’s Daughter Has Message for ‘Angry’ Ole Miss Fans
After a lengthy standoff, Lane Kiffin finally made a decision on his coaching future by spurning the Ole Miss Rebels and a shot at a national title for the LSU Tigers.
Kiffin led the Rebels to an 11-1 regular season and Ole Miss is in position to host a College Football Playoff game, but that wasn’t enough to keep the head coach in Oxford. Instead, he fled for Baton Rouge where the three head coaches before Brian Kelly all won national titles.
In an introductory press conference, Kiffin claims Ole Miss fans attempted to run him off the road while he was on the way to the airport to leave for his new job.
“I think that people get really upset when you leave somewhere because they feel hurt because you’re doing a really good job,” Kiffin said. “They ain’t going to the airport and driving from all over to say those things and yell those things and try to run you off the road if you were doing bad.”

His daughter, Landry, may have heard a thing or two about his interaction with Ole Miss fans while the head coach was riding in a car with her younger brother, Knox. Late Monday night the Ole Miss student took to send a message to the angry fans in her mentions.
“Wish I could be as creative as angry football fans,” she said in the caption of the video that included a heart hands emoji.
Kiffin knows the expectation at LSU is to win national titles, something he had the chance to do this season at Ole Miss.
“When you take the history, tradition, passion and the great players in the state of Louisiana, no one can argue that when you’re in Tiger Stadium on Saturday night, there is nothing like it,” Kiffin said. “This place is built for championships with championship expectations — we understand that — but as an elite competitor, that’s exactly what you want, and that’s why we’re here.”
