LeBron James, Chase Daniel, More React to Devastating Wildfires in California

Almost every year, California has dealt with wildfires due to the dry nature of the state and the heat every summer. However, wildfires have broken out uncommonly, sweeping across the state during the winter months.

Many prominent athletes live and play in Los Angeles County, which is being hit hard by wildfires. Naturally, those athletes have reacted to the devastation, including Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, former Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Chase Daniel, and more.

James offered a simple message on his X page last night when the fires broke out.

“Praying for everyone in Southern California!! ! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾”

Daniel offered a much sobering look at the devastation the fires have caused in the Palisades, where everything began. Daniel’s image from his plane shows the entire area engulfed in flames.

Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby asked for prayers for LA County.

Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn, shared an image of the wildfires on her Instagram with a message that reads, “Praying for the safety of everyone affected by the fires in California”

Former Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff’s fiance Christen Harper also posted a story of the wildfires, “Stay safe everyone,” the story reads.

San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey also shared an LA Times story about the wildfires on his Instagram page.

Many prominent athletes and their families, friends, and supporters are being affected by these rampant fires, making their concerns hit home even more.

The fires began Tuesday in the Los Angeles County coastal community of Pacific Palisades. Strong winds began to kick up, preventing firefighters from being able to go in and contain the fires to any degree.

At the time of this writing, 2,921 acres in the Palisades have been burned, including thousands of structures. Another fire began northeast of Altadena Drive & Midwick Drive, Eaton Canyon, and Altadena/Pasadena. The Eaton fire is reportedly even worse, with some 10,600 acres being burned.

Both fires have led to thousands of people having to evacuate, with some stories covering families going back for their pets, such as a family seen walking their horses down the street and away from the flames.

The hope is that the winds will calm down enough for firefighters to get in an attempt to contain the devastating wildfires.
