LeBron James Makes Strong Statement on Luka Doncic After Lakers Win
The Los Angeles Lakers are finding ways to win as they’ve now won five-straight games, with Saturday night’s showdown against the Denver Nuggets a thrilling overtime victory.
Their latest win featured some clever strategy from guard Austin Reaves, who intentionally missed a free throw off the front of the rim, grabbed his own rebound, and delivered a game-tying jumpshot to send it to overtime. From there, Luka Doncic continued his brilliance, as he seized the win.
With under 10 seconds remaining in overtime and the game tied up at 125 apiece, Doncic drove to the side baseline and then nailed a shot over a defender’s outstretched arm. With that, the Lakers claimed the 127-125 win, as Denver had no timeouts and 0.5 seconds on the clock, and were unable to make anything happen.

Following the game, LeBron didn’t hesitate to share his thoughts about his teammate, Luka, and his game-winning abilities for the Los Angeles Lakers.
“Just a big-time shot by a f***ing generational player. We wanted to put the ball in our guy’s hands. It’s going to be the first of many game winners for him in a Lakers uniform,” King James told reporters postgame.
In addition to Reaves and Doncic, LeBron had some of his own heroics during the game, diving for a loose ball on the floor to force a jump ball late in the game’s fourth quarter.
The NBA superstar appeared to be somewhat hurt and grimaced after hitting the floor, potentially due to his previous elbow concerns, but didn’t mention any injury after the game.

LeBron finished with 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists in the win, while Luka not only had the game-winner but also a triple-double. He ended up with 30 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds in the overtime victory.
With that, the passing of the torch continues in Los Angeles with LeBron handing off the franchise. King James is nearing retirement with next season’s NBA situation unclear, as some believe he could opt to return to Cleveland for a farewell season.
As of right now, appear to be heading in the right direction for LeBron, Luka, and the Lakers after their latest win. They now hold the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference and are 10 games behind the conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.
