LeBron James Reacts to Bronny G League Play, Bryce in Final Four

This weekend, LeBron James went from superstar basketball player to proud father, witnessing his sons’ success with their respective basketball teams.

One son, Bronny James, absolutely went off with the G League’s South Bay Lakers, scoring 26 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing out five assists. His other son, Bryce James, is a member of the Arizona Wildcats roster, and they defeated Purdue in the NCAA Tournament to reach the Final Four.

Now both of those teams have a chance to win championships, with LeBron getting to enjoy the moment as a spectator, cheering on his sons.

Bronny and Bryce’s moments were happening around the same time on Saturday, making it an exciting but hectic time for LeBron and his wife as they attempted to keep an eye on two games at once. After the Lakers defeated the Washington Wizards on Monday night, LeBron described the feeling of seeing his sons both have success with their respective teams.

“Yeah, it was totally awesome. I don’t know, man. Me and my wife went in the living room. I had Bronny’s game on the iPad sitting on the table, and then my wife had Bryce’s game on the TV, so we were watching both at the same time. I was watching Bronny go off, and I was also seeing Bryce celebrate with his teammates. They went to the Final Four. It was just super,” LeBron told reporters in the locker room.

“My boy’s first year in college. He’s going to the Final Four, and Bronny continuing to do what he do to get better. Nothin’ to worry about,” he said.

LeBron, asked about seeing his son’s college experience after he didn’t go to college, said he felt he “made the right decision” by going straight to the NBA rather than developing his game at the collegiate level.

“I cut three nets in state championships, that was enough for me,” he joked.

The South Bay Lakers (26-10) clinched the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference for the G League Playoffs, which begin Tuesday. Meanwhile, Arizona returns to the court on Saturday evening for a Final Four showdown with the Michigan Wolverines.

On Monday evening, LeBron and the Lakers picked up another win, this time without MVP candidate Luka Doncic in the lineup. Luka served a one-game suspension after receiving his 16th technical foul of the NBA season, but it didn’t matter as Los Angeles cruised to a 120-101 victory.

LeBron achieved another triple-double in his career to lead the Lakers, scoring 21 points to go with 12 assists and 10 rebounds. Austin Reaves added 19 points and nine assists, while Luke Kennard came off the bench to score another 19 in the Lakers’ 49th win of the season.

Los Angeles is on the verge of clinching a playoff spot. They needed a win last night, along with a Phoenix Suns loss, but the Suns captured a 131-105 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
