Man Risks Entire Life Savings on Big Super Bowl Bet—Outcome Stuns
A man on TikTok bet his entire life savings on the outcome of the Super Bowl LX, leaving viewers deeply concerned on his behalf as the game approached.
TikTok user Dela, doykdela on the platform, shared the video in which he told viewers, sweating profusely, that he had put $33,000 on the Seattle Seahawks to beat the New England Patriots—a bet with a potential payout of just over $49,000.
“A lot of y’all know that I’ve been through all the bad, I’ve been through all the good, I’ve been through Geno Smith, I genuinely used to pray for times like this,” he said.
“I always told myself, if the Seahawks go to the Bowl, when I got any type of money, I am going to that game.”
According to Dela, circumstances beyond his control prevented him from making the trek, so in an effort to make himself feel like he was present at the game, he made a huge bet.
“We have to win, because if I lose this money, I’m broke,” he said.
“I’m counting on the Seahawks game.”

‘Extremely nervous’
Dela’s viral video drew the attention of content creator Scooter Jones, who had an extra ticket to the game. In his own viral video, Jones said he found Dela’s address and he showed up to ask if the super fan would like to go to the game with him.
“I’m 100 percent serious,” Jones said in the video, as Dela looked stunned.
The video cut to the duo at the stadium, where Dela yelled: “I’m at the Super Bowl.”
Still, the pressure of the situation started to get to him.
“I’m not going to lie, I am extremely nervous, bro,” Dela said later in the video.
‘What if you win?’
Dela’s eventful day was far from over, however—another content creator spotted him and asked him to join the stream. On the stream, he told Dela to run on the field.
The NFL got wind of the stream and even though Dela had no intention of running on the field—and even though another fan later successfully did run onto the field—he was removed from the stadium.
Jones later filmed himself talking to the camera, looking somber.
“I don’t know what to do,” he said.
“The people I’ve asked, they told me I should stay. I’ll probably stay till halftime, then I’m going to go meet up with him. I need to be able to celebrate with him, or console him.”
Fortunately for Dela, the Seahawks put together a dominant Super Bowl performance, winning 29-13. Running back Kenneth Walker III was named the game’s MVP.
“Anything’s possible, bro,” Dela yelled in a final video after the game.
“Everybody was telling me, ‘What if you lose, Dela? What if you lose, Dela?’ Nobody was focused on, ‘What if you win, bro?'”
‘A gambling problem’
Not everyone saw Dela’s win as a feel-good situation.
TikTok creator neiltheCEO reacted to Dela’s first video, highlighting how risky the entire situation was.
“You don’t need to explain,” the creator said.
“We already know why you did it, bro. You have a gambling problem.”
NeiltheCEO pointed out that Dela put everything he had earned as a content creator up for a potential payout of just $16,000.
“Coming across your video, I genuinely hope that you win,” he said, “But the risk-to-award factor is not worth it.”
