Map Shows Trump’s Approval Rating in Every State Amid ‘No Kings’ Protests

President Donald Trump’s approval rating is taking a hit in some previously favorable states ahead of a series of planned protests against the president.
Polling compiled by Civiqs, which compiled 31,528 responses, shows Trump’s approval rating declining in states he won in November 2024, like Texas and North Carolina.
Using this data, Newsweek has created a map to show his approval rating in every state.
The Context
The president’s popularity has fluctuated amid a wave of protests in recent weeks. People have expressed their disapproval of policies Trump’s administration has implemented, including cuts overseen by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Other protests have focused on Trump’s immigration policies.
Activists are coordinating a protest on June 14, targeting a military-style parade planned by the Trump administration on Flag Day, which coincides with the president’s birthday.
The “No Kings” group, which is organizing the protest, is recruiting volunteers online and working with local chapters in more than 30 states with over 100 other organizations.

What To Know
In Texas, a state Trump won in the November 2024 presidential election, the president has a net approval rating of -3 percentage points.
In Maryland, 26 percent of people approve of Trump and 70 percent of people disapprove of him. In Connecticut, 24 percent approve and 62 percent disapprove.
Other states show more favorable ratings. In Wyoming, for instance, 67 percent approve of the president while 29 percent disapprove. Alabama also has a strong approval rating as 58 percent of people approve of the president while 38 percent disapprove.
Nationally, Trump’s approval rating has declined. According to the latest J.L. Partners/Daily Mail poll conducted on June 6 among 1,006 registered voters, 47 percent of respondents approve of the president’s job performance, while 53 percent disapprove, giving him a net rating of -6 points.
That is down from an approval rating of 50 percent in May. However, it is still up from the 45 percent recorded in the J.L. Partners/Daily Mail April poll, a second-term low.

William Hill, an adjunct professor of political science and business at Webster University in St. Louis: “I believe that this map reflects a steady decline of both approval ratings as well as confidence in President Trump’s leadership. In particular, the decline in approval ratings, even by some solidly Red states that have consistently previously demonstrated strong support in the past, especially a state such as Texas, reflects in my view, a deeper and much serious cause for concern for both President Trump as well as his MAGA base.”
The “No Kings” group previously said: “Real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else.”
President Donald Trump said on Meet the Press in May about the parade: “I view it for Flag Day, not necessarily my birthday. Somebody put it together. But no, I think we’re going to do something on June 14, maybe or somewhere around there. But I think June 14—it’s a very important day.”

There are 1,800 protests planned across the country for June 14, with millions expected to attend. A map shows the cities that are hosting these protests.
The president has warned those planning to protest the event that they will “be met with heavy force.”
