Marilyn Manson Accuser Responds to DA’s Decision to Not Prosecute Musician
Actress Esmé Bianco said she was “deeply disappointed” by the news that Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman decided not to prosecute Marilyn Manson following a four-year investigation.
The shock rocker faced allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence. Bianco, an actress known for her role on Game of Thrones, was one of more than a dozen women who had accused Manson of abuse. She has also said that she gave evidence to prosecutors during the investigation.
A statement from Hochman’s office said they had determined that allegations of domestic violence against Manson, real name Brian Warner, “fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Bianco replied to Hochman’s decision with a statement she shared on social media.
“Whilst I am deeply disappointed by the decision of the District Attorney to not bring charges in the case against Brian Warner, I am sadly not surprised,” Bianco wrote. “Within out toxic culture of victim blaming; a lack of understanding of coercive control, the complex nature of sexual assault within intimate partnerships, and statues of limitations that do not support the realities of healing; prosecutions face an oftentimes insurmountable hurdle.”
This is a developing story and will be updated when more information becomes available.
