Mark Cuban Denies Donating a Single Dollar to Kamala Harris’ Campaign

Billionaire businessman Mark Cuban has denied donating a single dollar to Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, despite voicing support for her on social media.

On September 30, Cuban posted on X, formerly Twitter, a link to an article about his “love-hate relationship” with Donald Trump, who he’s been critical of in the run-up to the election. One user responded that Cuban is “only pushing Kamala since she promised you the moon” and that, “Trump is our only hope.”

In response, Cuban wrote, “I have been promised one thing and one thing only, that their team would evaluate my ideas and suggestions Not a damn thing more. I gave as much to her campaign, PACs and political organizations as I have to every one of them the last 20 plus years,” he then added: “$ 000000.0000000.”

Newsweek reached out to Cuban and Harris’ campaign for comment via email outside of business hours.

Cuban has been vocally supportive of Harris online and has repeatedly clashed with fellow tech billionaire Elon Musk, who endorsed Trump, on X.

When previously asked by an X user why he is excited about Harris’ campaign for president and why he supports her, Cuban wrote on X, “She is honest. Ethical. Smart. Open minded. Not an ideologue. Pro-business. Centrist. Fair. Uplifting. Can’t be baited. Doesn’t hate fellow Americans. Believes in American exceptionalism. Doesn’t think this country is awful.”

He continued, “I think you can expect her to listen to the American people and be responsive. She will put country over party. Notice she has talked about Vance/Trump. But has not criticized or denigrated the country or Trump voters.”

According to OpenSecrets.org, which tracks campaign financing, Cuban last donated to a candidate in 2002, when he gave $1,000 to Democratic California Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren’s campaign.

Cuban also offered to pay $1 million to a charity of Trump’s choice in 2012 if he shaved his head, in response to Trump’s offer to pay $5 million to charity if former president Barack Obama showed his college transcripts and passport applications, Forbes reported at the time.

Cuban recently warned Musk about continuing to be a loyal supporter of the former president and noted his financial contributions to the candidate, writing on X, “Elon, there will come a time when you need something from Donald Trump. You will think you will have earned the right to ask and receive. You have been a loyal, faithful soldier for him. You have supported him politically with 10s of millions of dollars. Then, at the point you need him the most, you will find out what so many before you have learned, his loyalty is only to himself.”

While on Fox News, Cuban said that if Harris is elected president, and he were given a role in her administration, he would like to be head of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
