Maxx Crosby Dealt to NFC Contender in Blockbuster Draft Day Trade Prediction

Star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby has already been traded once this offseason, and yet, he’s still on the Las Vegas Raiders’ roster.

After the deal that sent Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens for two first-round picks fell through days after it was agreed to, Crosby and the Raiders have been adamant that both sides are happy to still be working together.

But over the last few weeks — whether the Raiders will admit to still shopping him or not — they’ve been getting several trade inquiries, and some analysts believe the 28-year-old defensive end could still be dealt sometime between now and the 2026 NFL draft.

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell thinks if Crosby is traded, the Philadelphia Eagles are a prime landing spot, and he thinks the Raiders could get back quite a bit for the Eastern Michigan alum.

Barnwell recently predicted a blockbuster Eagles-Raiders trade that would send Crosby to Philadelphia and former first-round edge-rusher Nolan Smith Jr., the No. 23 overall pick in the 2026 draft and a 2027 third-round pick.

“The Raiders wouldn’t land two first-round picks or get as high a first-rounder as the one they were set to receive from Baltimore, but this would be a reasonable return,” Barnwell wrote. “Las Vegas could use the 23rd pick on a wide receiver who fits (Fernando) Mendoza’s timeline better, such as Omar Cooper Jr., who was the quarterback’s teammate at Indiana.

“… The Raiders would also add Smith, who would step into their edge rotation as a replacement for the departed Crosby. Smith has had an up-and-down tenure after being drafted in the first round by the Eagles. He didn’t seem to fit in the defense as a rookie before racking up 10.5 sacks between the regular season and postseason in Year 2. Smith seemed on the cusp of a 2025 breakout but managed only three sacks in 11 games during a season impacted by a torn triceps.”

Adding Crosby, who totaled 53 pressures, 31 hurries, and 10 sacks across 10 games last season, would instantly upgrade Philly’s pass-rush, which still has defensive end Jalyx Hunt (60 pressures, 36 hurries, 6.5 sacks), and defensive tackles Jalen Carter (46, 33, three sacks), Moro Ojomo (54, 44, six sacks), and Jordan Davis (28, 22, 4.5 sacks), per Pro Football Focus.
