McDonald’s Pokémon Cards 2025: Full List of What’s in New Happy Meals
McDonald’s has launched its 2025 Pokémon-theme deal that allows the card collectors to continue adding to their stacks each time they purchase a Happy Meal.
Why It Matters
The Golden Arches have released Pokémon cards in previous years, so the launch is not brand-new. But it was announced not long after the start of the “McValue” platform, suggesting the chain is pulling out all the stops to entice more customers to come into its restaurants.
McDonald’s also recently said it will “definitely restore” its oldest branch in Ukraine after a Russian missile strike damaged the restaurant in Kyiv.
What To Know
The promotion will allow Pokémon enthusiasts to buy a Happy Meal that comes with a Pokémon TCG pack containing four different cards as well as a Pokémon poster and one sticker sheet to decorate the poster.
Fans will receive one of four Pokémon-themed Happy Meal box designs featuring the characters Charizard, Pikachu and Dragonite together, Rayquaza and Roaring Moon.
The Pokémon news outlet Pokebeach.com says the four-pack of cards will contain one holo card. These are rare cards that have a holographic, shiny image at the top of the card instead of regular art, and they fetch higher prices in Pokémon trading, according to Moneymade.com.
In total, there are seven holo cards in the McDonald’s launch for 2025, according to Pokebeach.com.
There are 15 Pokémon cards in the promotion, according to the Pokémon website:
- Charizard
- Pikachu
- Miraidon
- Jigglypuff
- Hatenna
- Dragapult
- Quagsire
- Koraidon
- Umbreon
- Hydreigon
- Roaring Moon
- Dragonite
- Eevee
- Rayquaza
- Drampa
In addition to the cards, every Happy Meal purchase made through the McDonald’s app unlocks an in-game bonus, at no cost, for the Pokémon TCG Pocket app.
Fans will receive a one-time redeemable code to unlock 24 pack hourglasses and 12 wonder hourglasses, which can be used to open two digital booster packs and select one randomized digital card as part of the Wonder Pick feature.
McDonald’s Pokémon Happy Meals Release Date
The fast-food chain announced Tuesday on X (formerly Twitter) the start of the new promotion. The post said: “Really hope i catch a Rayquaza wbu. Order the Pokémon Happy Meal today and unlock Pokémon TCG Pocket rewards with the McD’s app.”
The promotion will run in the U.S. until February 24 and launched in France in December. It is scheduled for Austria and New Zealand this month.
How Much Will the Pokémon Happy Meals Cost?
The cost of McDonald’s Happy Meals is fairly consistent but does change a little based on restaurant location. They vary from $3 to $8, according to fast-food website Fastfoodmenuprices.
The new Pokémon-theme meals will not add any extra cost to the original Happy Meal price, according to Soapcentral.com, but there will still be variations in price depending on store location.
What People Are Saying
Guillaume Huin, senior marketing director at McDonald’s, said in a release: “There’s nothing more exciting than when we can bring campaigns to our fans with partners that we’re fans of ourselves.
“Much like they do for McDonald’s, our fans have deep nostalgia and love for the Pokémon brand. We’re thrilled to build on those great memories and create a new moment of fun and happiness with the new Pokémon Happy Meal,” Huin said.
Reached by Newsweek, McDonald’s said in a statement: “Starting Jan. 21, the new Dragon-type Pokémon Happy Meal arrives at McDonald’s stores nationwide for a limited time, unlocking more ways to experience the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) for customers who order on the McDonald’s app. And that’s not all — every Happy Meal purchase made through the McDonald’s app unlocks an in-game bonus at no cost for the Pokémon TCG Pocket app.”
What’s Next
Pokémon fans can start purchasing the themed Happy Meals now and can enjoy the new additions to the meal until late February.
