Mets Interested in Yankees’ Free Agent: Report
The New York Mets, having already plunged $765 million into signing one Yankees free agent this winter, are keeping tabs on another according to a new report.
Relief pitcher Tim Hill won’t cost as much as Juan Soto. But the veteran left-hander is coming off a solid 2024 season in which he went 4-0 with a 3.36 ERA in 62 games (67 innings) for the Yankees and Chicago White Sox.
According to Tim Healey of Newsday, the Mets are interested in Hill.
Mets relief bit: They’ve been interested lately in lefthander Tim Hill, per source.
Hill had a 2.05 ERA in 35 appearances after joining the Yankees last year (plus a 1.08 ERA in 10 postseason games).
He would be a good fit for the Mets, who could use relievers/a lefty.
