Micah Parsons Doesn’t Hold Back About Penn State Coaching Search
Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons was at one point one of the best defensive stars that Penn State has ever had and he has remained vocal about his alma mater.
Once again, Parsons did not hesitate to speak out about the Nittany Lions. As the school looks for a new head coach, Parsons decided to weigh in with his thoughts on the matter.
In the middle of the season, Penn State decided to make a change. The program felt that it was time to move on from James Franklin and fired him. He has since landed with Virginia Tech and has proceeded to begin stealing recruits away from the Nittany Lions.

Penn State needs to figure out a new head coach to lead the program forward. Quite a few names have been linked to the job, but most of them have proceeded to be hired by other teams. Parsons has a strong opinion about who should get the position.

As shared by NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Parsons made it very clear that he believes the Nittany Lions should keep interim coach Terry Smith in place and give him the job permanently.
“If we have any common sense, if they ever want me to come back, they better put Terry there. I’ma be honest with you,” Parsons said.
It doesn’t get much more clear than that when it comes to a coaching endorsement. Parsons clearly believes that Smith is the right man to lead the program for years to come. Perhaps he will get his wish.
Smith has become one of the most likely candidates for the job. There are other names being talked about for Penn State, but Smith has risen to the top of most wish lists. Current players have also spoke out about wanting him to get the job.

Whether or not Parsons’ voice carries any weight with the program remains to be seen. But, he’s at least made it clear what he believes would be best for his former team.
Expect to continue hearing a lot of news and speculation about the Nittany Lions’ coaching search. A choice needs to be made soon and Smith has gained a lot of traction as a top candidate.
