Mike McDaniel Makes Decision on Tua Tagovailoa as Starter
A disastrous performance from Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in Sunday’s 31-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns Sunday had Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel evaluating his quarterback situation.
McDaniel, however, has made his decision on Tagovailoa and the quarterback situation headed into Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons.

McDaniel told reporters Monday he’s sticking with Tagovailoa as his starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. The decision from McDaniel comes after Tagovailoa threw three interceptions against Cleveland on Sunday, bringing his season total to 10, tied with Geno Smith for the most in the league.
Sticking with Tagovailoa is more than likely the right choice, as it would either be rookie Quinn Ewers or career backup Zach Wilson getting the nod if the Dolphins benched their $200 million quarterback. Speaking of the money, it’s hard to believe that didn’t play a major factor in the decision as well.
It is unclear how long of a leash Tagovailoa will have against the Falcons in Week 8. Another lackluster performance like the one in Week 7 could put Ewers or Wilson in line for Miami’s Week 9 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Sunday’s game may also be crucial for Tagovailoa’s future with the franchise.
