Mike Tomlin, Steelers Made Unfortunate NFL History With Texans Blowout
Mike Tomlin is undisputedly one of the best coaches in the NFL and – as often has been shouted from the rooftops of his supporters – has never had a losing season.
But he’s also failed to lead the Steelers to a playoff victory since January 2017 – a span of nine NFL seasons. Only six teams in the league have a longer losing streak and 28 different head coaches have won a playoff game since Tomlin’s last win, with four winning playoff games with two different teams.
After a 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans, Tomlin made it clear his team didn’t get it done.
“When you don’t get it done, words are cheap,” he said. “It’s about what you do or you don’t do. And so, I appreciate the question, but people talk too much in our business. You either do or you don’t.”

While the Steelers have a rich history and own countless NFL records, the team picked up an unfortunate honor on Monday night when they became the first team in league history to lose five straight playoff games by double digits.
Following another playoff blowout loss, Tomlin refused to speak on his future.
“I’m not even in that mindset as I sit here tonight,” Tomlin said. “I’m more in the mindset of what transpired in this stadium and certainly what we did and didn’t do. Not a big-picture mentality as I sit here tonight.”
